I spent my youth in the 1980s assembling, what I thought would be, my retirement fortune. Baseball Cards. Ken Griffey, Jr. Upper Deck Rookie, Bo Jackson, Jose Canseco Rated Rookies. The Mattinglys, Clemens, Boggs. By 2019 that stash would easily be worth 10s of thousands. Just grab a Beckett Baseball Card Monthly back then, flip to the 1960s sets and see what upward valuation happens after 20 years.
In reality, that never happened.
That didn’t stop “Danny from Brockton” from casually shooting his shot and expecting $5,000.00 for …..Tim Wakefield and Trot Nixon cards.
